Nature of Damage:
The mite has a pale body with dusky spots on undersurface. The mites make small, oval colonies covered with thin webs on the undersurface of leaves. Their number may reach 1300- 1500 per leaf. The feeding on sugarcane leaves causes the appearance of white blotches, which later turn to brown. The affected leaves look sickly and gradually dry up.
