Rice is a staple food in much of the world and hence increasing its production is of special interest. Its productivity is severely affected by soil salinity, drought, low and high temperatures and other abiotic stress condition. By multiple alignments of promoter and enhancer regions of these 20 abiotic stresses related genes it has been observed that there is no consensus sequence present for regulating the expression of these genes and it has been observed that genes are not grouped on the basis of stress specificity. So it seems that more than one factor responsible for regulating these above genes of rice.
